Freya Snow, Research Analyst

Freya Snow is a Research Assistant with experience across Atlantic Canada and the Arctic in fisheries research, regulatory-informed marine projects, and applied ocean technology. Her background includes field-based monitoring, gear innovation research, and support for environmental compliance initiatives.

She has supported seabird bycatch mitigation field trials, contributed to reef ball deployments supporting DFO’s ‘Policy for Applying Measures to Offset Adverse Effects on Fish and Fish Habitat under the Fisheries Act’, and participated in Arctic inshore fisheries research in collaboration with northern communities.

She holds a BSc in Marine Biology, with honours research on performance testing of a whale entanglement mitigation device for deepwater fixed-gear fisheries. Freya brings practical field experience, strong research and data analysis capabilities, and an understanding of Canada’s marine regulatory and innovation landscape.
